Up to one-third of abortion clinics in the state will have to shut their doors due to the reverse of Monday's decision that part of the Texas abortion law was unconstitutional.
According to The Slate, The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed District Court Judges, Lee Yeakel's decision.Yeakle said that the part of the law that said that an abortion clinic needed a Hospital admitting requirement was putting an unnecessary block on women seeking an abortion. The court of appeals disagreed with Yeakel's decision claiming that the law was there for the patients safety.
With the overruling the abortion law goes into effect today.
According to USA Today the court's order is temporary until it can hold a complete hearing, possibly in January.
