X-games star snowboarder, Shaun White, was arrested and charged with public intoxication and vandalism after his actions at the Lowes Vanderbilt hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

Police were called out at 2 a.m. when White was identified as the guest who allegedly pulled the hotel’s fire alarm, forcing evacuation of the entire hotel as well as damage to a hotel phone.

As White tried to leave in a taxi, a guest told the driver that cops were on their way to the hotel. White allegedly responded to this by kicking the guest and running away. The guest decided to chase White and ultimately the two ended up colliding in to each other, causing White’s head to hit a fence.

White was treated at a hospital for injuries caused by the collision but refused to sign misdemeanor citations.

A police source told ESPN.com “He basically put himself in jail by not signing that.”

White was released from custody late Monday afternoon. He is set to appear in court October 10th.

White has since, given an apology.

“I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests,” White said, “I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior.”
