The Defense of Marriage Act and Proposition 8, both anti-gay marriage laws, have new enemies in their Supreme Court cases.
The CATO Institute, a libertarian political think tank, and the Constitutional Accountability Center, a progressive law think tank, have both announced they will file briefs against DOMA and Prop 8, according to senior BuzzFeed legal reporter Chris Geidner.
Cato & Const Accountability Ctr will be filing in #Prop8 Thursday & #DOMA by Friday, CAC spokesman tells BuzzFeed. More to come tomorrow.

The Prop 8 case, Hollingsworth v. Perry, discusses the rights of the states to deny gay and lesbian couples to marry. The DOMA case, United States v. Windsor, discusses the Federal governments ability to deny gay and lesbian couples marriage benefits.
Geidner said the center will file in the Prop 8 case on Thursday and the DOMA case on Friday.
