SHSU, TCC Enter Into Academic Partnership

Texas Chiropractic College and Sam Houston State University entered into an academic partnership by signing an articulation agreement on Dec. 13 at TCC’s campus in Pasadena, according to a university press release. This agreement led to the creation of the chiropractic early admission program as part of SHSU’s medical and allied health programs, and facilitates the admission and academic transfer of students from SHSU to TCC. This program ensures a seamless transition of students seeking to complete their Bachelor of Science degree from SHSU while at the same time pursuing a Doctor of Chiropractic degree through TCC. The Houstonian garners awards at Texas intercollegiate press competition

By Jessica Priest Web and Multimedia Editor The Houstonian took home a total of 10 awards from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association, or TIPA, at its annual competition in Fort Worth this past weekend. Sports Reporter Lotis Butchko, a senior print journalist major, received second place in the Feature Writing on-site contest. In addition, the Houstonian’s Editor-in-Chief Meagan Ellsworth received an honorable mention for a previously-published news feature story entitled, “Pot reform not ‘half baked’,” which appeared in the newspaper in October of 2010.
