Zac Efron has not been seen out partying for the past few months, and with good reason. The ‘High School Musical’ alumnus completed rehab about five months ago. Sources confirmed to People magazine stating the 25-year-old actor is “doing great…he is taking care of himself and it shows.”
Timing could not have been better since his new movie ‘Parkland’ will be released into theaters on October 4th. He is currently promoting his upcoming flick and has recently been seen on the carpet at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival.
‘Parkland,’ directed by Peter Landesman, is a film showing the events that occurred on November 22, 1963 with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The actors are able to portray the chaos that occurred and the event that brought them together. Parkland Memorial Hospital was where President Kennedy was rushed to, making it the central setting of the movie, hence the title.
Efron plays Jim Carrico, a surgeon who was the first to attend the president. "It's really a surreal experience for me," he tells USA Today. "It feels very mature and really interesting. It's a whole different kind of filmmaking and I feel blessed to have been a part of it."
Zac Efron is a hot young actor with a whole lot of potential. Glad to hear that he is doing better which only infers that there is so much more in store for him. Hopefully he will go on and do other projects in the near future.
