Just a few days after Marvel Studios released the trailer for the Captain American sequel, out comes the trailer for the "Xmen: Days of Future Past".
Since the beginning, Professor Xavier has been the driving force for mutants of the Xmen. After Jean Gray vaporized him in "Xmen: The Last Stand" (2006) there were post-credit hints that Xavier would be resurrected.
The first official full length trailer showcased a mostly all-star cast along (including Professor X) with others.
It begins with a familiar voice: “What’s the last thing you remember? I had a glimpse into the past. You’re going to have to do for me what I once did for you,” said Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart). He tells Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) to go back in time (or so it seems) to find Xavier’s younger self played by James McAvoy.
Xavier pleads with his resilient young self to “help” them. There’re no solid implications of what it is that they need help with or how older Xavier got to his younger self. Halle Berry is also back with her new silver Pixie cut for her role as Storm. Jean Grey does not make an appearance as she too came to her tragic death in Xmen: The Last Stand.
Bryan Singer posted on his Twitter: “… [the] trailer is primarily a character piece, as most of our VFX are not finished yet,” he said. Singer also confirmed that the infamous sentinels will finally be seen in action.
Due to high volume of visual effects that will be included in the movie, it will not premiere until May 23rd2014. Expectations are high for the film. Xmen fanatic and junior at SHSU, Bryan Hood said,” I can’t wait.”
