Almost every person saw Disney's The Little Mermaid in their childhood. Who could forget the naive red-headed girl who wanted to walk amongst humans? Once Upon a Time didn't forget her either.
In Sunday's episode of Once Upon a Time the producers introduced their version of The Little Mermaid. Ariel is still a red-head, still naive and still wants to live happily ever after with Prince Eric. The way Ariel goes about walking is different.
In the shows version all mermaids are granted to walk at a certain time of the year from high tide to high tide, this is how Ariel re-introduces herself to Eric. Her legs only last so long so she goes to the shore and calls for Ursula, whom everyone believes is a myth.
Someone does appear but it is the Evil Queen in disguise, By making a deal with her and going back on it is how Ariel loses her voice.
This twists works for this show, because the Evil Queen has to be involved in everything. That is what she does, plays on young girls naivety and gets them to do their bidding.
Things could come back to haunt the Evil Queen because is Ursula really as fake as she is portrayed?
