An article on Joystiq.com has revealed that two new sets of downloadable content for Mass Effect 3 will arrive within the next two weeks.
The first to arrive on Feb. 26, "Reckoning," is a free bundle of multiplayer content that will include even more characters, weapons, and item upgrades to be used within multiplayer. However, as of right now, none of these categories have been elaborated on.
The second batch of content, set to release on March 5, "Citadel," will be the final single player DLC to be released that is described as, ""one final, sentimental journey with Commander Shepard and their squad," by Bioware and EA's press release. Set at a $14.99/1200 Microsoft points price tag, the content offers players one final mission that will allow their Shepards to "reconnect with some of their favorite characters from all three of the Mass Effect games."
As a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, I could not be more excited for these new batches of downloadable content, especially for "Citadel." As fun as I've had with the multiplayer, I will always be more attached to the single player experience, and with the promise of being able to reconnect with characters from all three games, this news leaves me with hundreds of questions.
There were numerous characters, specifically squad mates from Mass Effect 2, that only had small cameo roles in the final installment. Characters that players had become attached to and grown to care about, barely got any screen time and thus left many fans disappointed.
With the numerous amount of possibilities, I'm interested to see how exactly this DLC will play out to allow for this "reconnection" to characters from all three of the Mass Effect games.
