Kanye West is on his way to being the newest member of the Kardashian clan as he proposed to Kim yesterday at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
It was the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star’s birthday. The proposal was intimate, with only friends and family of the couple present
The ring is a reported 15 carats and is valued at 5 million dollars.
What made the event more special is that West rented the venue solely for the proposal.
West was in Beverly Hills presenting an award at Hollywood Film Awards, but flew to the Bay Area to make the big-time proposal.
As he asked the question, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!” displayed across the stadium’s Jumbotron with the Chicago Symphony playing in the background.
West had started his “Yeezus” tour, which he started off Saturday night, Yahoo! Music said. He postponed the next day’s show, which was the second, at Rogers Arena in Vacouver until Halloween. The postponement could be do to the proposal, but that has not been confirmed.
However, he will continue with the next show, set in the Bay Area’s Oracle Arena tomorrow night.
West and Kardashian started dating in April 2012, with West citing that he “fell in love” with Kardashian a few months later in July.
He announced his fatherhood at a concert in Atlantic City, and then in June, the couple welcomed their daughter, North ‘Nori’ West into the world.
"[Marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don't have this sense of urgency about it," Kardashian said to Cosmopolitan earlier this year.
This will be West’s second public engagement. He was last engaged to Alexis Phifer in August of 2006. The pair separated in 2008.
Kardashian is embarking upon her third marriage, shortly following her divorce from Boston Celtics forward, Kris Humphries, which was finalized in early June of this year.
"It just feels like this is it for me,” Kardashian explained of her relationship.
