Anyone out there fans of the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic games? Winners of numerous awards such as Game of the Year and one of the most influential works in the expanded Star Wars universe. What about just gamer fans of Star Wars in general?
Well this news from Kotaku.com should have you all excited as KOTOR 2's studio, Obsidian Entertainment, has pitched the idea of a new Star Wars RPG set between the third and fourth movies.
CEO Feargus Urquhart continues in saying:
"Because we think that timeframe is super interesting. It's the fall of the Republic, the extermination of the Jedi, it's Obi-Wan going off and making sure Luke is OK. It has elements people remember, but not the stories."
As of right now, Obsidian has not yet run it by Disney as it is now their ultimate decision whether or not Star Wars RPG fans will see this game become a reality or not.
KOTOR is one of my absolute favorite games of all time and is actually the first game that really got me hooked on RPG games in general. While I have already moved on from the heart break of never seeing the third installment to the series, this news has given me a new hope (pun intended) that this possible RPG may be what fills that void in the hearts of KOTOR fans everywhere.
All we can do right now is wait and hope that Disney approves this pitch so that Obsidian can begin work immediately.
What would you like to see in a new Star Wars RPG?
