Justin Bieber addresses rumors, earns respect for SNL performance (video)

While he might not have turned millions of people into 'Beliebers," singer Justin Bieber made audiences laugh out loud and earned my respect in his performance on 'Saturday Night Live'.

Bieber made fun of himself several times throughout the show, addressing his recent controversy of allegedly smoking marijuana and hinted about all the gossip surrounding his relationship and PDA with Selena Gomez.

In a clip from "The Miley Cyrus Show," Bieber used the SNL stage to apologize for allegedly smoking weed.

In another clip from "Principal Fry", the "Beauty and the Beat" singer poked fun at all the attention surrounding his relationship with Selena Gomez, playing a boy who helped plan a high school "Abstinence Dance."

“We’ve been hearing lots of comments from the haters and I just want to say there’s nothing wrong with being abstinent. My girlfriend and I can be very intimate without having to go all the way there.”

While I will never be a 'Belieber,' I can now say I have respect for the performer. He was funny and convincing in all his characters, but he faced all the gossip about him head-on. Let's not forget that not every star who's gotten into trouble has been able to bounce back so well (cough cough Chris Brown). But, Bieber handled himself well on the show without going overboard and actually made me laugh. Kudos, Justin. It seems like you are growing up.
