Director J.J. Abrams is probably one of the biggest names in Hollywood right now. He's directed and produced hit movies such as the 2009 reboot of Star Trek, Armageddon, Super 8, as well as hit shows like Lost and The Office. Needless to say, he's a well rounded, successful individual with great gut instincts.
His next project, the latest installment of the Star Trek reboot Star Trek Into Darkness, premieres on May 17 worldwide and has just today released the international trailer. So why wait so long to release the full length trailer?
One thing to be said about the Trekkie fans is that they have a great ability to hype the movie themselves without much to go on. Additionally, the success of the 2009 film, which grossed over $250 million, left the audiences yearning for more from Abrams. Plus he's also working on the next Star Wars installment that is set to release in 2015. Between casting and helping to get the script working he's been a very busy man.
I must say that the new trailer does look pretty intense and like it will be a good film to go see.
