Arsenio has been gone from late night television for 19 years, but this week he reincarnated his original “Arsenio Hall Show.”
“Well leave it to the first black late-night host to take 19 years off work and come back here and expect my job to still be waiting for me,” Hall said in an interview with the New York Daily News.
Hall says that a lot of things have changed since his original show. The resurrected talk show will face some significant differences this year, the main one being the competitive time slot that it airs in.
Hall faces the likes of late-night veterans David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and even Jay Leno. However, he expects to attract a mix of demographics.
Even though the show faces changes, Arsenio brought back two staples from his first show.
He called his band Posse 2.0, and he renamed the crowd that greeted him with ‘Woof!’ the Dogpound 2.0 the New York Daily News said.
